The power and emotion in their voices added so much to this story and I will definitely be looking out for more titles narrated by these two in the future. Amber Bray and Tyler Darby do an incredible job narrating. Although, I am glad I did because the story comes together in the end and I enjoyed it overall. The first half of the book kept me engaged and listening, the second half was much harder as I found the drama over the top at times and difficult to stick with. She is a strong and resilient and has learned to get by in life on her own without the help of others. She was much more mature than I initially expected. I was impressed by the writing and character development and couldn’t get enough of the angst and chemistry between Blakely and Decker. This is a taboo/brother’s best friend/student teacher romance. This was my first book by Coralee June, and it won't be my last.

*Audio Code provided in exchange for an honest review* Overall, good but not quite what I was expecting/looking for. I liked how protective Decker was of his best friend, Lance. Not to mention the main conflict/turning point ends up not even being about the couple themselves or about them getting caught. Yes, they were resistant to their attraction but there wasn’t as much sneaking around as I would’ve liked. I just wish the forbidden aspect had been fleshed out more. They resisted each other as long as possible before caving and that added tension was my jam. I still enjoyed this story mainly because of how both main characters were so reluctant to engage in a relationship. Forbidden love slow burn? Yes! I was expecting more dark themes/bully type stuff to go on and that wasn’t the case. The male narrator was fantastic though! Story: 3.5 ⭐️ I wouldn’t say this is a dark high school romance, as it’s advertised. The southern accent was Over the top and at times made me cringe. I didn’t care for the female narrator.at all. This is a must read! Beyond a shadow of a doubt. The narrators of the audiobook only strengthen this feeling, giving life to the different characters and really capturing their personalities and quirks with their voices. It was so pure, so raw at times and the atmosphere that is created in this book, allowed me to be there, with the characters, accompanying them on their journey. I was wholly consumed by these characters and swept away by their story and emotions. Long story short, I have been a complete twatwaffle because this (audio)book was pure perfection. From the moment I knew the audiobook was coming, I kept postponing it (well, I was waiting for the audio really). I can't really give a reason why, because I'm a HUGE fan of the author and I wanted to read this book so bad. It is to my complete and utter shame that I have to admit that, although I bought this book on release day, it has been sitting on my TBR-list for a long long while.
